Replaceable-Back Elbows

Replaceable-Back Elbows are designed to reduce maintenance costs and extend component life in abrasive pneumatic conveying applications. Each elbow is constructed using a pipe or tube elbow, with sides fabricated from 10-gauge material welded directly to the bend for added strength. The back of the elbow is also made from 10-gauge material and is designed to be easily replaced once wear occurs.

By allowing only the backplate to be replaced rather than the entire elbow, Replaceable-Back Elbows provide a cost-effective solution for high-wear locations. Additional backplates are available at the time of purchase, helping minimize downtime and streamline future maintenance.

Replaceable-back elbows are an excellent solution for lesser abrasion applications and can last for years. This low change-rate means low maintenance, low cost, and reduced system downtime. If you do need to replace this type of elbow, it’s very quick and easy – you simply remove and replace the back, and it’s no more inconvenient than replacing an elbow fitted with compression couplings.

Replaceable-back elbows are used in less abrasive applications, including chemicals, plastics, and grains. It’s best not to use this type of elbow if you are conveying food and are concerned about contamination as product can build up in the open voids around the sides.
